According to Islamic tradition, Prophet Ibrahim had long yearned for a child, and in his old age, he was blessed with his beloved son Ismail (Ishmael), who became the joy and comfort of his life.
As a test of his unwavering faith and loyalty, Allah repeatedly revealed a sacred command to Prophet Ibrahim in dreams: to sacrifice his dearest son as a testament to his complete submission.
